Some Unique Information about our Winchester Location:

Manager: John Gebhardt

       John has worked for Meadows Farms since 1991 starting out at our location in Germantown MD. A graduate of Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, he moved to the Shenandoah Valley In 1995 to manage our Winchester VA. Nursery. He received awards for" Nursery of the Year" in 1995, 1996, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

       John has been growing orchids as a hobby for many years, former President of the Lord Fairfax Orchid Society in Winchester and winner of several awards for his orchids at the National Capitol Orchid Society show and sale at the National Arboretum located in Washington D.C. held annually on Columbus Day weekend.

       John has one daughter and will be getting married to the love of his life in the fall of 2011.

Assistant manager: Chris Haack  

Chris has worked for Meadows Farms since 2004 at our Winchester nursery. He has lived in the Winchester are all of his life, and graduated from Sherando High school in 2003. He is the father of 3 children and will be getting married in July 2011.

Chris enjoys all sports, both watching and participating.

Assistant manager:  Mike Brown

Mike has worked for Meadows Farms since 2009. He is from Linden, and has lived there his whole life. He graduated from Warren County High School in 2006. Then went on to graduate from Allegany College in 2008 with an associate's degree in forestry. He specializes in tree identification, insect/disease, and tree care at the nursery.

       His hobbies include: hunting, fishing, golfing, photography, and spending time in the outdoors. Mike enjoys being outside as much as possible, at all times of the year, because of his appreciation for nature and the outdoors. His favorite trees are: the Chinese Chestnut, Weeping Alaskan Cedar, and Bloodgood Japanese Maple. 

Special Event in Winchester: 

 Winchester is host to the "Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival" the 1^st weekend in May. When hundreds of thousands of people descend on the small town for parades and events like weekend in the park an arts and crafts sale in Jim Barnett park. Landscape Design and Installation

We offer Free Landscape Planning with Landscape Designers on staff Thursday through Sunday in the spring and Saturday and Sunday in the autumn months. No appointment is required, just bring photos or a sketch with measurements to assist the designer. Whether you are a do-it-yourselfer, or want our experienced landscaping personnel to do the work for you, our design service is a great place to start.
