The ‘Green Giant’ Arborvitae was first introduced by the U.S. Arboretum in Washington D.C. and quickly became one of the most popular new tree releases ever.
These trees grow naturally uniform and neat with little or no pruning. The columnar shape takes up very little space in your yard, making it ideal for small and large yards alike.
The ‘Green Giant’ is one of the hardiest and most adaptable trees available. It resists high winds, extreme heat and cold, ice damage, drought, disease and insects. It is even deer resistant most of the time. It is fast-growing with dense foliage all the way to the ground. Green Giant arborvitaes grow in most soils and will tolerate partial shade. They can be planted 10-12’ apart, or as close as 5’ apart for a fast privacy screen.
Green Giants can be used as an alternative to other evergreens like Hemlocks and Leyland Cypress.
