Downtown Condominium

There is a special challenge in designing for small urban spaces. The condominium building is ultra modern, where the ceilings are high showing airconditioning ductwork. In consultation with the garden committee, we strove for a green winter landscape with the opportunity for a color focal point, summer and winter. We decided on dark green leaved otto luykens paired with pink knock out roses, and contrasting gold mound spirea and variegated liriopi.
For the focal point we built a circle of extra large salmon colored weathered granite boulders planted with trailing wine colored wave petunias, flanked by mugo pines and to protect the corners of the planting area from careless pedestrians, bergerac pavers.
