Helichrysum italicum


Normally a dusty gray, new flushes of growth are green. Native to Turkey, it attracts beneficial insects to its unusual yellow flowers.  Curry plant is NOT where curry seasoning comes from. Although it smells like the seasoning, it does not taste like it.

Use sparingly- a few leaves in a mayonnaise or a sprig tucked in a cavity of a chicken.  Remove leaves for serving, after they have imparted their flavor. Mainly grown for medicinal or fragrant purposes. The oil from its blossoms is used as an anti-inflammatory, fungicidal, and astringent.
