Calculating how much mulch you need is as simple as plugging in your numbers into our fancy mulch calculator. Just measure the length and width of the area you’re looking to mulch (in feet) and then decide how deep you’d like to mulch. Three inches is usually the best depth for new mulching, but as little as an inch may be necessary if you’re just freshening up existing mulch that still looks good.
